Hollywood & Bollywood team up to fight piracy

Hollywood and Bollywood a.k.a. Indian Cinema are working together to fight piracy in the world’s biggest film industries.

According to MSN, the coalition will fight to remove camcorder recordings of new films as well as reducing piracy of DVD films.

Indian production company UTV took a 50% partner share in Steven Spielberg’s company DreamWorks.

Partnerships from Hollywood and Bollywood have proved successful in films Slumdog Millionaire, Avatar, and My Name Is Khan.

Piracy in Indian Cinema is a serious problem. KPMG says piracy cost $959 million and 571,000 jobs in 2008.
