A good night’s sleep has now turned into 40 winks…a nap if I’m lucky. Last night, all my luck had run out…my mind kept racing and I couldn’t keep up. I got out of bed so many times it was as though there was a pea under it. I locked the door. I needed a drink of water. I’d forgotten to fake tan my neck. It was completely ricockulous. I would have minded less if I didn’t have a 9am tutorial on the EU and the Euro…what a thrilling prospect that was! Saying this I almost had fun, I’m such a neek (that’s nerd meets geek) sometimes…I find the most random things hilarious. Fortunately with age I’ve learnt to control my laughter outbursts (well…that’s a lie, some of the noises that come out, if I don’t say “I never laugh like that” once during the day then it’s a miracle). We had a fun little “quiz” to do, which my crazy haired tutorial lady could not get enough of…she was loving it all, and it rubbed off on me a bit too much.
We had to decide whether certain statements about the EU were true or not…if they had passed certain laws or what have you. The one I had to read out went as follows:
British yoghurt will be renamed “fermented milk pudding” – if Brussels has its way. Under plans being discussed by EU officials, only yoghurts made using the sour-tasting bacteria according to traditional Bulgarian recipes will be called “yoghurt”.
Since typing I’ve decided this is less humorous but I did actually chuckle out loud when I first read it. I would say I need to get out more, but the truth is I could not really be in less. I blame the lack of sleep. Now this statement is ofc false, however there are rumours that it will come in, in the next few years. Who knew my blog could be so educational…or not.
Back to last night…and what a bitch of an audience we had. There was a school trip, with 13-15 year olds. They were beyond rude. Most had their phones out, slumped in the seats, chatting away. It’s all the cast could talk (rant) about backstage. They laughed in the most inappropriate moments, which no matter how high you look above them is incredibly distracting. Even during the intense (yes, this musical does actually have some poignant moments…shock) scenes they weren’t mature enough. Apart from them rotters, the show went really well, apparently it was better than the opening night. Again, on a personal note, I know I can do better and with double figures coming to watch me this evening, the pressure is on. But it’s all good. One thing that did improve last night was…well…how damp my costume was at the end. I brought a beach towel with me yesterday…yes an actual mahoosive beach towel. In the second act, after my solo followed by a dance number, it gets a little hot and my back tends to resemble a waterfall (damn who’s a sexy bitch) and so I invested in my “COOL!” beach towel (it says that on it, I’m not sure what makes a beach towel “cool”). It definitely helped but I think I need Botox all over my back. I want it to be frozen. It was never really that expressive anyway…
The show was followed by a cast curry! And it turned into a midnight feast…literally. Yes, I know there were around 40 of us all ordering at near enough the same time, but at one point I thought they were actually getting the food from India itself. Being really quite a novice I didn’t branch out too much and went for mild and garlic…if it aint broke, don’t fix it! A few chile’s were being passed around which was rather humorous, I was gutted when they ran out just as it was my turn. Absolutely gutted. Seeing someone gasp for milk is not something that happens everyday, which is a good thing as I never want the novelty to wear off. I had a bit of a blonde moment when I questioned why Bollywood was being played on the TV screens. There was a guy dressed all in white who apparently resembled me. I’m hoping it was the dancing technique because I’m much better looking…not that it’s all about looks, but it is (hello jaw line).

All white on the night
On to today and I came home for a quickie (careful now…) brunch before I head into town to have a late lunch with my aunt who is coming to watch this evening! Work can wait for tomorrow…right?! X
