Patthar ke Phool

I have never been Salman Khan fan. Okay, I did like the innocent boy in “Mere Rang me rangnewali”.

But that’s end of it. Despite that I did watch many of his movies. Even those that performed  average ones. The movies where SP was singing for Salman !!

In fact I feel he looks much more matured and decent these days compared to his young days. A lot of people from Bollywood fraternity swear by his friendship and how good he is. He indeed sounded good on Farah’s Tere Mere Bich Mein talk show. Recently CID did promo of his upcoming movie “wanted”. Not sure I am gonna watch it.

Other day I happen to listen to this one tune on TV; which sounded terribly familiar. It kept on playing in my head for a while not able to recall where it was from originally. After listening it 2-3 times; the tube light was on. It was from this Salmaan’s song from movie “Love”. The song  ”Sathiya tune kya kaha”. A friend of mine told me the background behind this song. That he will ask Revati whose name is “maggi” in the movie and he forgots about her until he happens to see the Maggi Sauce bottle. And then he rushes back and there it comes this song. The days when hormones work in full swing ; this background was enough to love the song.

Another less famous song from the same movie. Oh I knew the lyrics of this one as well !

One day I happen to see this Auto-Rick fella playing “Dus ka Dum”. Obviously he being Salmaan’s fan; he sang one of his favorite song. A song which I heard after ages. Today I feel it is typical Lorry-Auto wala type of song. But hey wait I have seen the movie in theatre then.  Okay go an have a laugh.  Let me join you too !  From Patthar ke Phool

Few of other Salaman songs that make laugh out loud has to be

1. aayi main aayi – Salman and ayesh jhulka

2. chudi maza na degi

Then there were loads of them The great big fat indian wedding movies ( read Rajshri movies); Saajan,Baagi, Karan – Arjun. But at the same time one can not forget that these songs happen to be hit then. One movie I completely skipped watching was Himesh Bhai’s musical hit “Tere Naam”. Too much of emotion for my taste.

One movie where I was completely biased about character played by Salman has to be “hum dil de chuke sanam”. Lovely movie and lovely songs. After all it was a SLB movie.

and yet I still like some of his old songs. A top favorite of mine ; even today has to be “aate jaate” from MPK.

then there is “aankho ki gustakiyan” . I think the couple absolutely rocked this song. what do you say ?

So bring on your love-hate songs. Dig the pages of past and let’s roll the laughs. Game ?
